Artist Statement
“Often times I feel that as a trained artist I am fortunate to be able to see the world around me from a different perspective, I see beauty in the most mundane things.
It is thrilling, that through my art and teachings I have the opportunity to share this special experience.
Colors, lights, shapes all play a very important role in my life and work.
When I create a painting, I strive to make it loose and painterly, so it’s easy on the eye and leaves room for the viewer’s imagination, instead of “explaining” every little detail. I also make a conscious effort to capture light, emotions and atmosphere. I believe that I accomplished my goal if the spectator can experience a physical sensation or emotional connection to my art.“
